And the best croissant in Paris in 2014 is…

Our friends at Paris by Mouth have reported on the ‘Contest for the best croissant using Charentes-Poitou AOC butter’ (wow!), and this year’s winner happens to be just outside the city limits in Malakoff (although it’s only three minutes from the métro station Malakoff – rue Etienne Dolet on line 13, if you want to pop down there).

But which baker within the city limits scored highest this year for his croissant – surely the most important part of any continental breakfast?

As the article by Paris by Mouth explains, the best Parisian croissant for 2014 is in the 16th arrondissement, at Boulangerie Schou (here), but if you’re staying in one of our hotels, there’s  no need to go all the way across town for scrumptious, award-winning pastries.

For exmaple, the Boulangerie l’Essentielle on rue Mouffetard (here) came fourth in last year’s contest, and there are plenty of other exceptionally good baking establishments all around town where you can feed your croissant craving. We should all thank Paris by Mouth for their really useful map – very helpful for foodies.
