Baccarat, the legend of crystal ehibition
at the Petit Palais until 4th January 2015

An exhibition to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Baccarat – what a great idea! And what great free publicity!

Here’s all the info.
Exposition Baccarat, La légende du cristal au Petit Palais jusqu'au 4 janvier 2015It’s the first French retrospective of Baccarat’s work since Baccarat turned 200 (i.e. 50 years ago), and this is your chance to see hundred of exquisite items from the posh cristal manufacturer, including a giant chandelier with 250 lights on it! Understatement doesn’t seem to be their forte…

Baccarat is one the rare French companies that has survived through centuries, perhaps because of their fine technical skills, combined with creativity. Together with a few other brands, the company is synonymous with French luxury (check their prices if you’re unconvinced). The pieces made during the art deco period (the same era that served as inspiration for our latest hotel, Le Baume) are especially jaw-dropping. This is your chance to see how Baccarat’s creations, and the company itself, have evolved over 25 decades.

And to complete your visit, you might like to take part in a workshop (for creating your own Xmas decorations), go on a guided visit or buy the official catalogue (128 pages, 35€ here at amazon.fr).

Not forgetting that you can even go and eat at Baccarat in the 16th arrondissement, not too far from the Eiffel Tower. Their restaurant is called le Cristal Room and you’ll get a free visit of their sweet little museum afterwards. Book online here and you’ll get 30% off the lunch menu from Monday – Saturday.
