Naoki Urasawa exhibition
at Hôtel de Ville,
13th February – 31st March 2018

As part of  Tandem Paris-Tokyo 2018, a whole year of cultural events happening between Paris and Tokyo, the Paris city council and the Angoulême Festival present an exhibition of the art of Naoki Urasawa, the master of manga who many say changed the history of the genre.

And it’s free! Here’s all the info.
Manga fans rejoice – this new, free exhibition at Hôtel de Ville presents 500 original drawings by Naoki Urasawa, probably the best-known author of mangas for adults and young adults.

With stories somewhere between Alfred Hitchcock and Brian De Palma, and his particular point of view on modern Japanese society, you’ll be able to learn more about the artist and the genre, and look at his work close up. A rare chance!

The concept-store at Hôtel de Ville has some exclusive objects on sale in connection with the exhibition – posters, tote bags, t-shirts – that you won’t find online.

And the Tandem Paris-Tokyo 2018 year of evens has a lot more in store for you during 2018 – concerts, exhibitions, installations… You can check out the whole programme (in PDF, in French) here.

The exhibition The Art of Naoki Urasawa is at Hotel de Ville (here) from 13th February – 31st March 2018

Open Monday- Saturday, 10am-7pm
