White Night 2025 in Paris, 7th June

After last year’s modified edition (thanks to the Olympics), nocturnal arts event la Nuit Blanche (White Night) is back in its classic format, with an entire night of free installations, performances, exhibitions… 114 arts projects across Paris!

With over a hundred propositions for White Night 2025 this Saturday 7th June, it would be impossible to for us to list everything on offer. Instead, let’s take a look at some of the main events happening near our hotels that have been directly chosen by this year’s artistic director (also an actress, screenwriter and filmmaker) Valérie Donzelli.

Les films dans la rue is outdoor film showings all over town, all directed by women (Chantal Akerman, Delphibne Seyrig…) Rive Gauche ça se passe sur le parvis de la Mairie du 14ème arrondissement, avec L’une chante et l’autre pas d’Agnès Varda, qui vivait pas loin de là.

Quoi l’éternité by Xavier Donzelli could well be the most popular event of the night this year, as it’s the first time that the White Night offers access to the Paris Catacombs, with a ‘poetic soundwalk’ 200 feet below ground level. Open from 9pm until 1.30am!

— Director Michel Gondry has a new short film on show, in front of the Gare Montparnasse train station (he also created this year’s poster for the event). Showings are from 7pm until 2am.

— The 7 Parnassiens Cinema has a couple of things going on: an exhibition by artist Cécile Bicler called Le réveil de Sally, la courbe, six large-format ‘puzzle drawings’ made with coloured crayons and inspired by the films Texas Chainsaw Massacre! The title refers to Sally Hardesty, whi apparently is the only character to end the film alive and with all her limbs 😳

You’ll also be able to watch a film by Bicler on the same subject, plus other video works by artists. More info here.

Other interesting-looking events include:

The Post Office Museum has an installation of photos by Canadian Véronique Béland,

— Aki Ito and Jean-Philippe Lambert (with Félicie d’Estienne d’Orves) have a musical light installation in the chapel of the Sorbonne University,

— in the town hall of the 5th arrondissement (just next to the Hotel les Dames du Panthéon and Hotel des Grands Hommes) there’s a poetic, music installation based on one of Shakespeare’s plays,

— at the Espace Fondation EDF near the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette there’s an exhibition, a DJ set by Maison Fatou and, er, magic!

— more DJs will be spinning at the Quai Branly Museum for an immersive sensorial experience by Junior Mvunzi,

— there are performances by Antonin Chaumet – called Echophone, digression d’un Barytonau – at the Gymnase Saint-Germain at 7pm, 9.30pm and midnight. Each performance lasts 45 minutes and is followed by 15 minutes for a Q&A with the artist,

— and we think you should check out the light installation by collective Candela550 which is down in the Sewers Museum…
