Xavier was one of the very first photographers to take part in our A Hotel Photo, An Artist’s View project. His new exhibition is called Fukusa…


Fukusa (袱紗) are pieces of decorated silk used to cover gifts in the Japanese tradition (Wikipedia page here).

For his exhibition, Xavier Alphand has created futuristic photos inspired by this light piece of cloth. Human bodies are lifted in urban environments after dark, half attraction half levitation. The photographer plays with hyper-realistic facets of photography and plunges us into strange scene between dark and light.

Grand opening: Friday 6th February starting 6pm
