If you want a taste of how young Europeans are approaching photography nowadays, the Circulation(s) Festival is a pretty good place to start.

Celebrating ten successful years, the festival has grown and matured to offer more than just an exhibition. For example, this year there’s:

a focus on Belarus

conferences and workshops

— the Helsinki Persons Projects as guest gallery and Prague’s FAMU as the guest school, presenting two of their artists

— the 25th & 26th April, a weekend all about independent publishing and photo books…

There’s also:

— a selection of photos for kids, called Little Circulation(s), with themes suitable for young’uns and the photos themselves displayed nearer the ground(!)

— the Photo Studio is on hand with photographers available to dress you up and immortalise your visite (book in advance here)

— photos by Jana Sophia Nolle and Tamara Eckhardt to see off-site at the Gare de l’Est train station

And dont forget the birthday weekend, two days of special events, art and performances, with entrance free for all on Saturday, and a club night that evening at La Villette starting 9pm! More info here.

And for an indelible souvenir of your visit, the official catalogue can be bought at the festival shop for the very reasonable price of 22€.
