Artists express themselves through their art, but one can also learn more about them through they objects they choose to surround themselves with. Or so says this new exhibition Ingres et Delacroix, objets d’artistes.

A tobacco pot in the form of a fish belonging to Delacroix and his ceramic ink pot he brought back from the city of Fez in 1832, a crown of golden laurels gifted to Ingres by the inhabitants of Montauban to mark him entering the Senate, and of course his famous violin…

All these objects have stories behind them and can tell us much about their owners, showing another side of their personalities, their tastes, their sensibilities…
