After the huge success of their Klimt exhibition last year (over a million visitors!), it’s all change at the Atelier des Lumières (that we visited for you not so long back).

In addition to Van Gogh’s Starry Night, you can also see Dreamed Japan, and Verse, a contemporary creation by Thomas Vanz.

Van Gogh’s most famous painting comes alive in this new exhibition at the Atelier des Lumières, but you will also see how the painter’s style evolved over the years and the different stages in his life. There’s also a more in-depth presentation in a room in the centre of the venue, allowing you to see each painting in whole and read comments about them.

Tow other programmes are also on offer. First of all Dreamed Japan, showing different portrayals of the country in art…

…and Verse, “a hypnotic, metaphysical stellar voyage” shown in the main room as well as the bar for an even deeper experience.

These three fims are shown continuously, so you can arrive when you like, watch them, then move to a different viewpoint and see them again, or walk and watch them at the same time. The venue is huge, after all.

And don’t forget that you are strongly advised to buy your tickets online before going, for two reasons – the on-site ticket office is not always open, and some days are already completely booked up!

The Atelier des Lumières (here) is open Monday-Thursday from 10am-6pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-10pm, and Sundays from 10am-7pm

On-site ticket office closes at 3pm during the week, and is completely closed at the weekend and during French school holidays
